CHAIR THE HOPE™ is an amazing non-profit charity that started with the Ogden family cycling 1,200 miles to raise awareness and money for wheelchairs to be delivered to global citizens in developing countries. The Ogden crew knows first-hand of how a wheelchair can change a life. Nathan Ogden has broken his neck two separate times, leaving him paralyzed. His disability has not altered his adventurous drive. Nathan, his wife Heather, and their 4 children ages 10-18 completed riding a hand cycle and bicycles in relay-style from Mt. Bachelor, OR (where Nathan broke his neck the first time) to Los Angeles, CA in the summer of 2017. Since then, supporters from all over the world have joined to help us with our dream to help others.
In March of 2018, Chair The Hope delivered 400 wheelchairs to Mexico. This fall and winter 90 wheelchairs will be delivered to Idaho, Utah, and Ghana Africa and it is scheduled to take 106 wheelchairs to Costa Rica in March 2019. We have partnered with the non-profit Wheelchair Foundation that has delivered over 1 million chairs to date. Each wheelchair only costs $150 and that is delivered to the country in need.
The goal of CHAIR THE HOPE™ is to inspire others to get outside and keep moving despite different abilities, fears, or excuses, while raising funds for wheelchairs to be delivered locally, nationally, and internationally. CTH is passionate about getting kids, mothers, fathers, and people of all ages off the ground and into wheelchairs that will allow them the independence to live with mobility. Join us in giving the gift of hope to our brothers and sisters throughout the world!
